Whilst mooching around Avebury on Sunday we came across, entirely by accident, these incredible bluebell woods at Manton near Malborough in Wiltshire. These woods cover over 1000 acres and are ancient and stunningly beautiful. Mainly of Beech, the lime green of the leaves on the trees filtered down to this luminescent purple blue. The scent was so amazing I nearly cried! I have not been in woods surrounded by such beauty since I was a child and it was an experience to be remembered. I was inspired to start planning planting bluebells from now on as I tend to spend time pulling out the Spanish thugs but never get round to encouraging the English variety. These images were taken with the SX-70 Polaroid and my dwindling supply of film!
