For no particular reason I have a sudden yearning to visit this garden. I can't believe I have never visited Derek Jarman's garden which is laid out on the shingle beach in the shadow near Dungeness Power Station. Whilst answering a question posed today, which garden to visit before I die, I remembered this one. We studied this garden on my garden design course years ago, I have the book, I have been very influenced by his style and yet have not set foot in the place. This summer I will take my him-indoors to see Sissinghurst, which his great-great grandfather once owned (see previous post!) and we will continue our journey on to see this famous and iconic garden. Which garden would you have to see before you die (or while you are still alive and kicking!)
