Apart from the fact that designing, building and planting gardens is completely out of control at this time of year, we have also been making the transition to moving part-time to our place in Laugharne. This move has added considerably to the usual stress and hysteria I go through at this time of year with my work-schedule, but it was all worth it in the end.
Who would'nt want to get lost in this wide expanse of empty beach! Laugharne has huge endless skies, a very friendly population of delightful people, and our cottage is so peaceful and with such amazing views that coming back to Bath is a trial. Which I never thought I'd find myself thinking!
We live on the top of this hill so can see the estuary as well as the sea. As soon as I can make it to get my films developed I'll post some pics of the cottage and it's garden. Suffice to say, serious work needed to tidy it up, but I'm going to try to hold back from a total re-do as we don't know how long we will be renting for.
Dylan Thomas' study which is an old garage perched up above the Taf estuary with far-reaching views. This place has more atmosphere than the boathouse which is open to the public and been rather over-cleaned up.
I'm really looking forward to going to the Botanical Gardens as well as simply spending as much time as work allows over the summer wandering along the beaches and hanging about in Laugharne generally with family and friends, all who have booked in for a visit!
