I have amassed a collection of Ladybird books over the years and recently came across them whilst clearing out my studio. They are unashamedly nostalgic and I find the pictures immediately recall my childhood as I was a voracious reader and would steam through these with ease!
They are now once more in vogue thanks to the surge in interest in all things vintage and nostalgic. I came across this:
There is also a blog about vintage Ladybird books (www.vintageladybirdbooks.blogspot.com) and it explains how to tell the age of your book by the price. They are easily found at carboot sales and I particularly love the ones about nature and wildlife as they are so innocent and from an age which seems so long ago.
I have a box of Ladybird books somewhere in the loft - think I might start collecting more to add to them

These photos brought back memories of when I taught primary children and we had a whole library of these books in my classroom
